A slideshow of 3D designs done on floors, looked amazing.

3D Chalk drawn Mario

Video with time-lapse showing the creation of the 3D art, and people enjoying the fun at the end.

I couldn't decide between these 3 and i dread how many i would have if i looked at more. The art is amazing, people can not just view it but also act out parts on its surface and look as if they are there, really doing the action. The painted one would have draw backs of ensuring you don't 'colour outside of the lines', while the chalk one would have the drawback of smudging easily and ruining the work (also the chalk one would be non permanent most likely).

CDU Design Student Shoulder Bag
rough pencil copy...

Shape: Rectangle, with strap.

Media: Photoshop

Style: Bright and bold

Reflections

My biggest issue for this week in both 2D and 3D design was that i had trouble getting past my mindset that everything around us is a source of information for design. 3D design is much more open to interpretation because it can be a graphic, image or solid/tangible object.

  1. Great blog here - just need to drop in your efforts at the shoulder bag and do some critique (Shape / Media / Style) - let me know when you're done.

    Cheers.
