This tutorial on a 2D Photoshopped wallpaper design is a great example of the different things you can do with layers, it could easily provide someone with new ideas of effects to use either separately or together for different effects in your design. As a new user of Photoshop it certainly helped me discover things that i previously didn't know.

Background for Design Blog

Currently in progress...

The finish result of the below picture.
The little white lights are supposed to be fairies glowing and are supposed to be more the focus than the background itself.

Reflections

My biggest issue for this week in both 2D and 3D design was that i had trouble getting past my mindset that everything around us is a source of information for design. I have also found using the graphics programs a challenge as i have not used them before, however, i have asked classmates for advice and have been viewing youtube videos to gain the ideas and knowledge to use them.

  1. Good start, but please have a look at the doc "Task 01 Blog Creation" - you have missed a few things. Every week you need to COMMENT on the YouTube or website link.

You also need to post an image and reference it properly. There needs to be observation and reflection - just cutting and pasting data is only the beginning. This unit is about CONCEPT ORIGINATION.

Please update this post - and also post for 3D separately and label it. When you are done - email me so I can check and give you a tick. :-)

  2. The guy in the Photoshop tutorial sounds like he's got a cold. So did you make a background for your blog yet?
